Sierra Leone international Daniel Kanu made his mark as Notts County secured their first away victory in League One this season with a commanding 2-0 derby win over Mansfield.
Substitute Callum Roberts opened the scoring for the confident visitors with a stunning solo effort just before half-time, and Kanu later added a second to ensure the three points.
The Magpies could have had a more decisive victory, with Lucas Smyth and Roberts missing great opportunities shortly after the break. County started strong, with both Kanu and Conor Grant forcing saves from the Mansfield keeper within the first 15 minutes.
Roberts, who had only just stepped onto the pitch, put his team ahead in the 29th minute with a brilliant long-range strike. Smyth came agonizingly close to doubling the lead just seconds into the second half, hitting the post with a glancing header.
Roberts then squandered a golden chance, shooting straight at the keeper when he appeared to have ample time to place his shot. However, County finally sealed the win in the 65th minute, as Kanu capitalized on a critical mistake by Louis Reed to find the net.
