Tawanda Blessing Chirewa, who currently plays for EFL Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers, has been included in the Zimbabwe national squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers this month.
Head Coach Ramon Catalá has announced his final Warriors lineup to take on Equatorial Guinea in Matchdays 3 and 4 of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
After securing only three points from their first two matches—a win against Sierra Leone and a defeat to DR Congo, Catalá will be eager to make a significant impact in these upcoming games.
The Warriors will face Equatorial Guinea in consecutive matches during the AFCON 2027 qualifiers: Matchday 3 is set for November 12 in Yaoundé, while Matchday 4 will take place on November 16 in Harare.
In March 2024, Chirewa received a call-up to the Zimbabwe national team. He made his international debut on June 7, 2024, playing in a World Cup qualifier against Lesotho at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
On Thursday, September 24, he scored the deciding goal to secure victory against Sierra Leone at the Stade Ben Ahmed El Abdi in their Group E opener.
