Cipenga, Wissa and Bakambu Named in DR Congo Squad for Double-Header

DR Congo head coach Sébastien Desabre has announced a 26-man squad for the Leopards’ November double-header against Sierra Leone in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The squad includes experienced attackers Yoane Wissa and Cédric Bakambu, alongside Brian Cipenga, as Desabre prepares his side for the two crucial encounters.

Desabre unveiled the list of selected players on Friday, November 6, 2026, during a press conference held at the headquarters of the Congolese Football Association (FECOFA).

The Leopards are scheduled to host Sierra Leone in the first encounter at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa on Thursday, November 12.

The two sides will then meet again on November 16 in Morocco for the return fixture, with Sierra Leone unable to host the match at home due to stadium availability.

DR Congo currently sit top of the group after winning their opening two matches against Equatorial Guinea and Zimbabwe, putting them in a strong position heading into the November fixtures.
